Learn to Belly Dance!

Najla teaches at Yale's Payne Whitney GymBelly dance (also known as Middle Eastern dance, raqs sharqui, or danse orientale) is a great way to learn a beautiful art form while staying in shape, gaining confidence in yourself, and (most importantly) having fun! Belly dance classes are available by the session (5-weeks) and drop-in.

Najla has previously taught belly dance through the Yale Belly Dance Society, at Yale University's Payne Whitney Gym, and at dance studios in NYC. She currently teaches group classes, workshops and private lessons as an independent instructor.

Beginner Belly Dance 2 at the Princeton Adult School

Tuesdays starting February 14, 2012 (no class March 20 or April 3)

6:00-7:00 pm

10 week session

After a conditioning warm up and technique drills, students will learn the foundations of Egyptian-style belly dance (raqs sharqui), focusing on isolations of the hips, torso, arms and upper body. Students will focus on movement combinations, transitions, and musical styles, building upon their knowledge to learn a full-length choreography. Appropriate for all ages and fitness levels,some prior belly dance experience recommended, but not required.
